Robot Delivery Service

As cities and states rush to stem the spread of the coronavirus, restaurants across the country are closing doors to eat-in diners. “The economic impact is huge,” said Johnson-Roberson, an associate professor of engineering at the University of Michigan. “I’m really worried that these restaurants aren’t going to come back.” the current perturbed circumstances demonstrated the importance of AI Delivery Robots

Restaurants that can’t open their doors are tapping delivery services to preserve some revenue. But many delivery workers say they don’t feel safe. And due to PPE shortage, many workers have said they lack the gloves, face masks, and disinfectant to do the job safely; others who have received equipment complain it’s subpar. And restaurant owners chafe at the high commissions of app-based services like DoorDash, Postmates, and Uber Eats.

This is where delivery robot comes in, to deliver restaurant or supermarket food to your home in the tamper-proof compartment of a robot on wheels.

Now, the food delivery robot could finally have a moment. According to Johnson-Roberson, his restaurant partners in Ann Arbor have tripled, and online orders max out daily. But despite the increased demand, this pivotal point may have come too soon for the delivery robot to rise to its full potential.

Food delivery robots have already started to deliver customer food orders in Northern California. Small service robots now show up to restaurants, get loaded with food, and then travel to hungry patrons.

Benefits of robot delivery include lower costs for the client and the consumer, decreased traffic congestion, a more Earth-conscious delivery alternative, and total visibility throughout the entire journey.

These are the sidewalks of the future, technology evangelists promise. Autonomous delivery robots, once the exclusive purview of 1980s sci-fi movies, are coming to a city near you, with promises of reduced labor costs, increased efficiency and the reduction of cars.
